Yes, darlings, we're shamelessly begging for you to vote for us in the People's Choice PodCast Awards this year! Do we deserve such an honor? Probably not, but it will stop Melanie from whining over the LibSyn costs, and frankly we'll do anything at this point if it'll shut her up.
Nominate Don't Quit Your Day Job: The Podcast in the Cultural/Arts Section (we thought about GLBT, but Taylor the Latte Boy told us that one big queen does not a GLBT podcast make).

And that's it! If we win, we will smother you all with the most luxurious of kisses, and Patrick will visit one lucky listener and rock his world for one amazing night! So go vote!
Jerry wrote a new story called "Thirteen Minutes into Doomsday" and recorded his reading of it for a new horror contest called "Masters of Macabre." He usually cringes and hides his face when he hears a recording of himself doing a reading, but this one didn't turn out that bad, especially toward the end ... you could tell Jerry was really getting into it.
The challenge: Jerry had to write a horror story which deals with technophobia and Y2K. Now, there's horror, and there's comedy horror. You can probably tell which route Jerry took.
Listen to it below, and if you like it, vote for Jerry to win.
Welcome to Videocast 10 of "Don't Quit Your Day Job: The Podcast!" where Patrick shows off his pipes with Mary Simon in a scene from the Barn II's beloved melodrama "Love Rides The Rails: or, Will The Mail Train Run Tonight?"
Welcome to episode 148 of "Don't Quit Your Day Job: The Podcast!" where Patrick realizes you can put porn on the iPad, Stacy is incommunicado at the lake house, Melanie celebrates an anniversary, and Jerry saves the day by playing our voicemails when Time Warner Cable experiences Issues(TM).
This crew has the timing of a fine Swiss timepiece, and the sharp wit of a wheel of aged cheddar -- loriwin
Melanie Fletcher and Jerry J. Davis are increasingly infamous speculative fiction writers; Patrick Gaik is an actor and leading light in Illinois dinner theater. Together with their roving newsgirl Stacy T, they discuss everything from philosophical subtleties to porn, with amusing side trips into day jobs, night jobs, writing, reading, performing, SF, fantasy, sex, anime, movies, TV, beer, coffee, Diet Coke with Lime, and anything else that wanders through their tiny minds.
And please, don't listen to Episode 26. Just...trust us on this.
